The standard installation and configuration on a UCT-owned machine

The standard installation and configuration for a UCT owned machine is geared towards improved security and ease of maintenance. Unless custom-built for a specific purpose, UCT machines are configured as follows:

 

The computer is named according to the UCT standard

The MAC address is used as the computer name.  This assists in identifying the computer in the Windows Server Update Service (WSUS), McAfee EPO, ZENworks and other software management and deployment tools.

 

Standard software is installed

This includes:

  • Microsoft office 365 pro plus
  • Google Chrome
  • Internet explorer 11
  • Firefox
  • Open enterprise Server (formally Novell Client)
  • iPrint
  • Java
  • Skype for Business
  • One Drive for Business
  • Google File Stream
  • Cisco AnyConnect( VPN Client)
  • Mcafee
  • Mcafee Agent
  • SAP( if Required)

 

Favourites are configured in the default browser (Internet Explorer)
