Remote Desktop Connection for Linux

  1. Install a remote desktop protocol for Linux - such as FreeRDP or Parallels Client.
  2. After successful installation, open the Remote Desktop Connection and enter the following information:
    • Computer: rds.uct.ac.za.
    • User name: username@wf.uct.ac.za.
  3. Click Connect.
  4. Enter your UCT password and click OK.
  5. Click Desktop and select the software package or application you would like to use.
  6. Choose where you would like to save the file.
  7. When you've finished using Terminal Server Session, click X at the top of the screen.
  8. Click OK in dialog box indicating that your remote session will be disconnected.
  9. Your remote desktop session is completed.
